Digital Workflow Guide

Exporting Cases from Dandy

Follow these steps to download your digital case files from Dandy and submit them directly to our lab — no shipping required.

STEP 01

Open Your Case in Dandy

  • Log in to your Dandy account at app.meetdandy.com.
  • Navigate to the Cases tab in the left sidebar.
  • Locate the case you want to export and click on it to open the case details.
STEP 02

Access the Case Files

  • Inside the case, click the Files or Attachments tab — this is where your scans, photos, and prescription are stored.
  • You should see all digital assets associated with the case: STL files, intraoral scans, X-rays, and any photos.
  • If you don't see a Files tab, look for a Download or Export button near the top of the case page.
STEP 03

Download the Case Files

  • Click Download All or select individual files you want to export.
  • Dandy will package the files into a .zip archive and download it to your computer.
  • Save the file somewhere easy to find — your Desktop or a dedicated "Lab Cases" folder works well.
  • Extract (unzip) the archive so the individual STL and image files are accessible.
STEP 04

Submit to Highland Dental Lab

  • Scroll down to the Case Submission form on our homepage (or click the link below).
  • Fill in your doctor name, practice, case type, patient initials, shade, and due date.
  • Click "Attach Files" and select the STL files and any photos from the extracted folder.
  • Add any special instructions in the notes field, then click Submit Case.
  • You'll receive a confirmation email — and we'll follow up if we have any questions.

Tips for a Smooth Submission

Include all scan files

Export the full preparation scan, opposing arch, and bite registration STLs when available. More data means a better fit.

Add shade photos

A photo of the adjacent teeth in natural light helps us match shade more accurately than a tab alone.

File size limit

Our portal accepts files up to 25 MB each. Large STL files are automatically chunked and uploaded securely — no need to compress them.
